Cortez is known as “The Gateway to the Southwest” because we are conveniently located close to Mesa Verde National Park with its mysterious cliff dwellings, the Ute Mountain Reservation and Casino, McPhee Reservoir, various ski resorts including Telluride, numerous Hopi, Anasazi (Pueblo), Navajo and other archeological sites, the historic towns of Mancos, Dolores and Durango, as well as the Four Corners Area.
